Every musician has had a teacher, usually many teachers over the course of their lives.Pass the Music On is a fundraiser concert happening January 19, 2019 in Yellowknife to support the Music Teachers Association NWT flagship event: the YK Music Festival.

The NWT MTA supports music teachers in the Northwest Territories at all levels, both with private studios and in schools. The YK Music Festival happens year in the spring (for 10 years now!), and gives music students of all ages and levels a chance to perform and get adjudicated by fantastic guest music educators. The entire event is run by volunteers and over 600 students in the City of Yellowknife participate each year.
